We have standardised our entire product lineup on USB-C, and we want to explain why — and what it means for you as a customer.
The decision was not taken lightly. We have customers who have accumulated a collection of our products over many years, and any change to charging standards creates friction. We heard those concerns during our customer research, and they weighed heavily in our deliberations.
Ultimately, we concluded that the long-term benefits outweigh the short-term inconvenience. USB-C is the emerging universal standard — mandated by the EU for portable electronics, adopted by virtually every major manufacturer, and supported by an expanding ecosystem of cables, hubs, and adapters.
For our customers, the most immediate benefit is fewer cables. A single USB-C cable can now charge your laptop, your phone, your headphones, and your smartwatch. For frequent travellers, this is a meaningful reduction in the weight and complexity of what you carry.
The performance benefits are also significant. USB-C supports faster charging protocols, higher power delivery, and — in the case of our monitors — simultaneous video, data, and power over a single cable. These capabilities simply do not exist in older connector standards.
For existing customers, we will continue to offer free USB-A to USB-C adapters with every purchase for the next 12 months. We appreciate your understanding as we make this transition.
